Covering topics from recognising signs and causes to legal responsibilities and creating recovery-focused environments, this course empowers care workers to approach substance misuse with professionalism, empathy, and practical skills.

  • Understanding Substance Misuse: Gain insights into the legal, health, and social challenges of substance misuse and how stigma can act as a barrier to recovery. Learn how cultural, economic, and accessibility factors influence substance misuse.

 

  • Recognising and Addressing Alcohol and Drug Misuse: Identify physical and behavioural signs, understand root causes, and recognise emerging trends like synthetic drugs and misuse of prescription medications.
