About the course
This course provides care workers with a comprehensive understanding of brain injuries, including their causes, effects, and the unique needs of individuals affected. It also highlights the roles and responsibilities of care workers and employers, emphasising person-centred care, effective communication, and legislative compliance.

The basics of brain injuries, including their causes, classifications (traumatic vs. non-traumatic), and the anatomy of the brain.
The behavioural, cognitive, physical, and psychological effects of brain injuries, along with their short- and long-term impacts.
Key legislation relevant to brain injury care, such as the Care Act 2014, Equality Act 2010, and Mental Capacity Act 2005, to ensure legal compliance and support individual rights.
The importance of early diagnosis, intervention, and ongoing monitoring in improving recovery outcomes and preventing complications.
Practical approaches to daily living assistance, promoting independence, and adapting care plans to meet evolving client needs.
